Job summary

Cook Children's in Fort Worth, TX seeks a Medical Assistant to support ambulatory care in the Cityview Orthopedics department. The role collaborates with physicians and advanced practice providers, assisting in preparation and delivery of patient care and applying the nursing process.

Candidates must have a high school diploma, MA training or certification, and current BLS. National certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or MA certification required.
• Current BLS Certification required; national certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and delivery of ambulatory patient care under provider direction.
• Collaborate with physicians/APPs in accordance with department policies and procedures.
• Support good customer relations and maintain nursing process-based care in ambulatory setting.

Location: Cityview Orthopedics Department: Ortho-Southwest Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Standard Weekly Hours: 40 Summary: The Medical Assistant will function in collaborative practice with physician(s) and/or advanced practice provider(s) in an ambulatory care setting. Assists in the preparation and delivery of ambulatory patient care as directed by provider(s) and other licensed clinical personnel. Skillfully and consistently performs clinical duties per established departmental policies and procedures. The care is based on the nursing process and augments the medical plan of treatment appropriate to the ambulatory care setting with an emphasis on good customer relations.

Education and Experience High School diploma required. Either a graduate of an accredited MA school OR a current MA certification required. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Current BLS Certification required. National certification preferred.
