This role focuses on learning how to inspect elevators and lifting devices to ensure they meet safety laws, regulations, and standards. As a UCC Elevator Inspector Trainee, you will perform the following duties:
- Safety Inspection: Assist in checking elevators and lifting devices to confirm proper load design and functioning safety systems
- Equipment Observation: Observe and operate cars, controls, hoist ways, guide rails, doors, wiring, hydraulics, and machinery for compliance with safety standards
- Plan Compliance: Review new installations or major repairs to ensure work follows approved plans
- Condition Evaluation: Assess situations to determine whether unsafe equipment may remain in use or must be sealed out of service
- Accident Investigation: Support inquiries into elevator accidents and serious issues referred by authorized inspectors
- Report Preparation: Help prepare detailed inspection and investigation summaries for review

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Home Headquartered: This position is home headquartered. In order to be home headquartered, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience in the construction, inspection, installation, maintenance, repair, or design of elevators, passenger ropeways, or other lifting devices, electronic equipment, electrical systems, heavy machinery, motors, engines, drives or hydraulic systems.
Conditions of Employment:
- This position requires possession of a valid driver’s license.
Post Employment Requirements:
- This position requires a valid certification issued by the Department of Labor and Industry, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, as an Elevator Inspector within the probationary period.
Other Requirements:
- The selected candidate must live in or be willing to relocate to Cambria or Blair County by the end of the probationary period. Expenses will not be paid.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
