Job summary

General Atomics is seeking an experienced UAV Pilot for a FLEX deployment role in Alabama. The position involves coordinating flight operations, mission planning, and in-flight instruction while serving as PIC for UAVs during testing and demonstrations.

The role requires a four-year technical degree or trade equivalency, a valid FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with instrument rating, and 500+ PIC hours with willingness to deploy regionally and globally.

Qualifications

• Four-year technical degree or trade school equivalency and UAV/aviation experience.
• FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with instrument rating and PIC ability.
• 500+ hours as Pilot-in-Command and willingness to deploy CONUS/OCONUS.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate ground and flight operations: mission planning, briefing and debriefing, safety, and resource management.
• Remotely pilot UAVs to verify engineering/test performance and compliance with specifications.
• Plan and execute flight programs and flight test events.
• Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company procedures.
• Develop procedures for new aircraft features and contribute to training materials.
• Instruct UAV student pilots in ground and flight operations.
• Represent the organization with military and commercial customers.
