Job summary

Redwire Defense Tech in Huntsville, AL is hiring a Final Assembly Technician to perform final assembly and test of UAV/UAS aircraft per engineering and production documentation. The role requires precise handheld assembly, diagnostics, and documentation in a fast-paced production environment.

You will work with engineering to resolve issues, inspect components for airworthiness, and support replacements or repairs as needed. A strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of assembly of small complex mechanical and electrical systems using hand tools in a production environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, engineering assembly drawings, diagrams, blueprints, and bills of materials.

Responsibilities

• Follows shop safety requirements and other relevant policies.
• Completes production documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Assembles UAV/UAS aircraft structures and subassemblies such as fuselages, wings, ground stations, and support kits.
• Operates precision measuring and test equipment.
• Communicates challenges with leadership and engineering.
• Maintains a clean and orderly workstation and production environment.
• Provides recommendations for improvement to management and engineering.
• Inspects UAV or UAV/UAS aircraft components per engineering and production documentation and checks for damage, defects, corrosion, or other wear and tear to ensure airworthiness.
• Recommends and perform replacement, repair, or modification of aircraft equipment based on inspection of returned aircraft.
• Supports problem solving activities for technical issues.
