Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking an experienced UAT Automation Analyst to lead automated validation of features and customer messaging across Apple’s services.

You will design scalable automation frameworks, mentor a global Tools and Automation team, and partner with Engineering, Marketing, Legal and Product Management to ensure quality and efficiency. Qualifications

  • 8 to 11+ years of software engineering, platform development, or automation with backend systems.
  • 3+ years leading engineering teams across multiple timezones.
  • Proven Python experience for backend development, APIs, and automation.
  • Experience designing, building, and deploying internal tools and scalable automation frameworks.
  • Strong Git and CI/CD proficiency (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Knowledge of relational and non-relational datastores and query optimization.
  • Experience delivering to teams and executives.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Marketing, Legal, and Product Management to support platforms, campaigns, and journeys.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to a high-performing Tools and Automation team.
  • Allocate resources, balance workloads, and delegate tasks across multiple timezones.
  • Partner with TSOs and UAT Leads to assess feasibility, prioritize backlogs, and enforce quality governance.
  • Design, develop, and maintain internal marketing platform tools, backend services, and scalable automation frameworks using Python.
  • Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and automation infrastructure.
  • Design data validation, workflow orchestration, and dashboard integrations.
  • Establish and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, and rigorous code reviews.
  • Define, track, and report program-level engineering metrics, team velocity, delivery health, and automation impact.
  • Drive process optimization and quality improvements across the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Deliver presentations with storytelling to align cross-functional teams and leadership.

Description

The ideal candidate will bring experience in online services, development of automation solutions, and design reviews of complex cross-functional initiatives across a highly matrixed organization. The ideal candidate can think strategically, execute flawlessly, and collaborate effectively with our Business and Engineering partners. The candidate will direct engineering execution, manage resource capacity, and lead distributed teams across multiple timezones. This role requires a highly motivated professional who is meticulous and passionate about scaling Central Marketing platforms and growing Apple Services.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including Engineering, Marketing, Legal, and Product Management, to support internal platforms, campaigns, and marketing journeys.
  • Provide people leadership, mentorship, and career guidance to a high-performing team of Tools and Automation professionals.
  • Allocate engineering resources, balance team workloads, and delegate tasks across multiple global timezones.
  • Partner with Technical Solutions Owners (TSOs) and UAT Leads to assess technical feasibility, prioritize backlogs, and enforce quality governance.
  • Design, develop, and maintain internal marketing platform tools, backend services, and scalable automation frameworks using Python.
  • Create and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and operational automation infrastructure.
  • Design and develop technical solutions for data validation, workflow orchestration, and dashboard integrations.
  • Establish, maintain, and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, and rigorous code reviews.
  • Define, track, and report on program-level engineering metrics, team velocity, delivery health, and automation impact.
  • Drive process optimization and quality improvement initiatives across the entire software delivery lifecycle.
  • Deliver presentations with strong storytelling to align cross-functional teams and leadership on technical solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 8 to 11+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Platform Development, or Automation with a focus on integrated backend systems.
  • 3+ years of direct experience leading engineering teams, managing resource capacity, and delegating work across multiple timezones.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Python for backend development, API integration, and system automation.
  • Proven track record of designing, building, and deploying internal tools, scalable automation frameworks, and data validation systems.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) to automate build and deployment workflows.
  • Solid understanding of data structures, relational and non‑relational datastores, and query optimization.
  • Experience managing team delivery, setting technical acceptance criteria, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Proactive and self‑starting attitude with excellent interpersonal skills and experience presenting to large teams and executives.
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with full‑stack development, including user interface frameworks (e.g., ReactJS) for internal portals and dashboards.
  • Experience supporting a broadly scoped marketing organization, central to operations; campaign management platforms; or ad technologies.
  • Hands‑on experience with containerization and cloud orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with AI‑driven workflows, machine learning evaluation pipelines, or automated test data generation.
  • Proven ability to balance new feature delivery with technical debt refactoring and operational maintenance.
  • Curious mindset with an ability to condense complex concepts into clear and concise action items.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $184,700 and $277,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
