Job summary

COLSA Corporation in Madison, Alabama seeks a Principal Systems & Product Design Engineer to bridge Product Management and Engineering, translating operational needs into scalable architectures and system requirements. You will work across aircraft, payloads, autonomy, networking, embedded software, and mission systems to enable rapid development from concept to production.

The role requires a strong technical lead with 10–12 years in related fields, and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related discipline.
• 10–12 years in aerospace/defense/unmanned systems from concept to production.
• Experience defining architectures, requirements, verification strategies.
• Technical leadership mentoring multidisciplinary teams.
• US Citizenship; pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team of engineers.
• Develop and apply advanced techniques for system requirements and problems.
• Design, develop, maintain infrastructure including network and software components.
• Plan, conduct, and direct projects; ensure quality controls.
• Coordinate efforts of technical staff on assigned projects.
• Review literature and current practices for project solutions.
• Assess vendor capabilities as needed.
