General Dynamics IT is seeking a Research Analyst / UAS Pilot (on-site) to support FAA Airport Research Division in Atlantic City, NJ. You will assess concepts for using UAS to enhance airport operations with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Role requires Part 107 certification and documented UAS flight hours; familiarity with flight planning software is preferred. On-site at William J Hughes Technical Center at Atlantic City Airport.

Research Analyst / UAS Pilot

HOW A RESEARCH ANALYST / UAS PILOT WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Provides expertise in the operation of unmanned aircraft. Develop flight test plans and procedures. Develop briefing and training materials to support flight operations. Plans and performs a wide range of in-process and final testing of analog, digital, microwave, optical and mechanical systems, and equipment under ambient and environmental conditions. Technical knowledge and experience with UAS operations to facilitate their integration safely and efficiently into the NAS. This effort requires collaboration with a broad spectrum of stakeholders, which includes manufacturers, commercial vendors, industry trade associations, technical standards organizations, academic institutions, research and development centers, governmental agencies, and other regulators. Ultimately, technical knowledge and experience to support UAS integration into the NAS without reducing existing capacity, decreasing safety, negatively impacting current operators, or increasing the risk to airspace users or persons and property on the ground any more than the integration of comparable new and novel technologies.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Education: Not Required
• Required Experience: Must be Part 107 Certified and have 100-plus documented hours of safely operating UAS platforms.
• Security Clearance Level: FAA Suitability Background
• Required Skills and Abilities: Part 107 Certified.
• Preferred Skills: Experience using flight planning software
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in any field.
• Location: On-site at the William J Hughes Technical Center at the Atlantic City Airport

The likely salary range for this position is $64,230 - $86,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
