Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) is seeking a UAS Pilot to join in Yuma, AZ. This role blends hands-on fabrication with pilot-in-command duties, building and maintaining fixed-wing and multirotor aircraft for flight tests and data collection.

The position requires 300+ logged hours, FAA Part 107, and experience with ArduPilot/Pixhawk, Mission Planner, and data capture. Outdoor work and potential travel are expected, with U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.

Qualifications

• 300+ logged hours operating remote-control aircraft or commercial/military aircraft.
• Three (3) years of experience in remote-control fixed-wing and multirotor UAS piloting, fabrication, maintenance, and repair.
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification.
• Experience with autonomous missions using ArduPilot with Pixhawk, Mission Planner, RFD Tools, Cube-Based Autopilot.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all environmental conditions.
• Two (2) years of hands-on fabrication, assembly, repair, and maintenance of UAS; read engineering drawings and BOMs.

Responsibilities

• Flight Operations: maintain safety, efficiency, and operation of UAS incl. UAVs.
• Provide fabrication, maintenance, service, and repair of fixed-wing and multirotor UAS.
• Manage data collection activities related to aircraft telemetry and imagery.
• Plan and execute autonomous and manual missions with risk assessment and deconfliction.
• Maintain flight logs and pilot certifications; build government customer relationships.
