Job description

Who You Are: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Representative to deliver capable unmanned aerial systems (UAS). You will be responsible for executing flight tests for R&D and quality assurance, integrating systems at client site deployments, performing training on systems, and providing front-line support for UAS troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in flight test engineering, practical experience with ArduCopter-based platforms, and proven ability to manage test operations. This position demands a blend of technical expertise, analytical problem-solving, operational precision, and the ability to take charge and work independently with a strong sense of responsibility. Candidates should be prepared for variable work hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, depending on deployment schedules and testing requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deploy systems and ensure customer success. Deliver hands‑on training and provide ongoing technical and operational support for our systems and users. Developing training materials, conducting sessions (both in‑person and virtual), and troubleshooting user issues with clarity and patience.
  • System Integration & Configuration. Configure and tune ArduCopter parameters for various airframes. Integrate autopilot hardware, sensors, telemetry, and ground control stations. Perform troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis of system anomalies.
  • Flight Test Planning & Execution. Develop comprehensive flight test plans, test cards, and risk assessments. Conduct ground and flight tests on UAS to validate performance, safety, and reliability. Operate as pilot, payload operator, or safety observer during test missions. Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. Federal Aviation Administration).
  • Data Collection & Analysis. Collect and report flight data to assess system performance and identify issues. Document and report test results, including post‑flight debriefs and technical reports. Recommend design or software modifications based on test outcomes.
  • Project Management. Communicate progress, risks, and results to stakeholders and leadership.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in flight testing or UAS development.
  • Proficiency with ArduCopter, including parameter tuning, mission planning, and log analysis.
  • Hands‑on experience with UAS assembly, integration, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of aviation regulations and airspace procedures.
  • Strong data analysis and technical reporting skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work safely in dynamic field environments and coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Certification as a Federal Aviation Administration Part 107 Remote Pilot.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with other autopilot frameworks (e.g. PX4, DJI Ground Control).
  • Experience using telemetry and ground control systems such as Mission Planner or QGroundControl.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
