Job summary

By Light Professional IT Services LLC is seeking an UAS Integration Engineer to lead payload integration and mechanical design for government programs. You will design, prototype, integrate, and test UAS payloads for Group 1 and Group 2 platforms, working with SolidWorks and Fusion 360.

The role blends hands-on design with cross‑disciplinary integration, requiring travel up to 25% and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. Onsite work in Port Orange, FL is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software; SolidWorks and/or Fusion 360.
• Solid understanding of tolerancing and DFMA principles.
• Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude with hand tools, test equipment, soldering, wiring.
• Highly organized, deadline‑driven with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% and obtain DoD Secret (Tier 3) clearance.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical Design: design UAS structures, mounts, brackets, enclosures, and payload interfaces using CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360).
• Payload Integration: integrate sensors, EO/IR cameras, communications gear, radios, antennas onto Group 1/2 UAS platforms.
• Rapid Prototyping: support quick-turn design, prototyping, and iteration using CAM software for machining, 3D printing, fabrication.
• DFM/DFA: apply manufacturability and assembly principles to reduce cost and improve quality.
• Field Support: travel to test sites and customer locations (~25%).
