By Light Professional IT Services LLC is seeking an UAS Integration Engineer to lead payload integration and mechanical design for Group 1 and 2 UAS programs, from concept through CAD modeling, fabrication, and final integration onto airframes across lab, shop, and field environments.

You'll join a rapid-prototyping team, work onsite in Port Orange, FL, and collaborate with senior engineers to grow into broader systems responsibilities while traveling up to 25% as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; Aerospace also applicable.
  • 2+ years of relevant engineering experience; UAS/robotics experience welcomed.
  • Experience with SolidWorks and/or Fusion 360.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% and obtain/maintain DoD security clearance.
  • On-site work in Port Orange, FL; not a remote role.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical Design: design UAS structures, mounts, enclosures, and payload interfaces using CAD tools.
  • Payload Integration: integrate sensors, cameras, radios, and other hardware onto Group 1/2 UAS platforms.
  • Rapid Prototyping: support quick-turn design and fabrication using CAM and 3D printing.
  • DFM/DFA: apply manufacturability and assembly principles to improve quality and reduce cost.
  • Field Support: travel to test sites and customer locations (≈25%).
