Job summary

Lycoming Engines in Williamsport, PA seeks an experienced UAS Flex Cell Machinist/Small Computer Operator I to operate and set up CNC machining centers, perform inspections, and ensure product quality.

The role requires reading blueprints, understanding NDI principles, and maintaining certifications. The candidate should have strong problem-solving skills, teamwork, and the ability to work a first shift in a safe, compliant environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Must pass the Production Inspection Test.
• Must pass the Practical Test.
• Understand the fundamentals of product validation in this cell.
• Must pass Lycoming Inspection Eye test and maintain certifications.
• Ability to read, interpret, and communicate technical information.
• Knowledge of tools, fixtures, cutting tool parameters, and machining techniques.
• Understand operation of shop floor computers.
• Understand Quality principles, gauging methods, and inspection techniques.
• Capable of qualifying and testing to maintain Level II NDI certifications every 3 years.
• Possess integrity and responsibility to meet manufacturing, engineering, and quality requirements.
• Positive attitude with flexibility to cell operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up machining centers and related equipment.
• Perform inspections and data collection with electronic gauging.
• Conduct penetrant inspection for final product acceptance or rejection.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the cell.
• Communicate issues promptly and seek improvements.
• Train or be trained as needed.
• Record-keeping as required.
• Collaborate across shifts to solve problems in real time.
• Maintain equipment and perform system checks per procedures.
• Work unsupervised and transfer legacy knowledge to others.
