Vylor Inc. seeks a 3‑month intern in research and development focused on UAS‑based field sensing for parent seed production. The role is based in Connell, WA, with flexibility to work from office or home on some days.

You will gain exposure to sensing equipment, data analysis, and interdisciplinary collaboration across researchers and industry partners. Dates: May–August 2027 with negotiable start/stop dates.

Formación

• Must be enrolled at an accredited university or community college at time of internship.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Part 107 UAS certification strongly encouraged.
• Undergraduate or graduate students eligible for internship.
• Experience applying technology to plant breeding or agronomy is a plus.
• Experience with GIS, sensors, remote sensing, and agronomy is desirable.
• Engineering, designing, building and testing equipment/sensors experience preferred.
• Microsoft Office suite experience required.
• Programming basics understanding preferred.
• Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to handle large/complex datasets.
• Experience with delicate electronic equipment.
• Passion for exploration, inquiry, and collaboration.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure timely data collection, analysis and organization.
• Fly UAVs and operate robots with their payloads.
• Process data and provide updates to research teams.
• Maintain safe driving record in varied road conditions.
• Collaborate with different groups to achieve project goals.
• Frequent day trips to off-site locations in the region.
• Contribute to group plans and discuss tech impact.
• Use sensors to create/manage a research project for station staff.
• Data collection, handling, and analytics.
• Work indoors/outdoors across environments.
• Engage in interdisciplinary research activities.
