Job description

At Skyeton, you'll work at the leading edge of unmanned aircraft systems. Our Raybird UAVs fly critical missions, from reconnaissance and monitoring to targeting and search-and-rescue, proven across hundreds of thousands of operational flight hours. This is a UAS-focused engineering role, and everything you do centers on getting capability onto the aircraft and into the air.

You’ll work in a fast-paced engineering, integration, and test environment, moving from concept to flight quickly and validating new payloads and mission systems on real hardware rather than on paper. Expect hands-on, day-to-day exposure to emerging technologies across sensors, communications, and autonomy, with the freedom to prototype, integrate, and iterate.

Most importantly, your work gets fielded. You'll help bring new technologies and mission capabilities directly to the warfighter on timelines that matter, and see the systems you build make a real operational difference.

What you'll do
  • Own the electrical integration of new payloads and mission equipment onto the Raybird, covering power, signal, and data.
  • Design power distribution, harnesses, and interconnects that fit the airframe and survive power loads.
  • Integrate radios, datalinks, and antennas, and lay out the RF and comms path from air vehicle to ground station.
  • Design interface and breakout PCBs in Altium to adapt COTS mission equipment to the platform.
  • Budget electrical loads against the onboard generator and manage power, grounding, and EMI/EMC on a dense airframe.
  • Bring up and debug systems on the bench with lab instrumentation, then support electrical checkout at the flight line.
  • Move quickly from prototype wiring to flight-ready builds for test and demonstration.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3-5 years of electrical design and integration on UAS, aircraft, or other flight or defense hardware.
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Fluency in Altium (or KiCad or Cadence) for schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Experience with DC power distribution, load budgeting, and power generation on airborne or mobile platforms.
  • Hands‑on harness and interconnect design, including connector selection, pinouts, and build documentation.
  • Working knowledge of RF and radio integration, ideally on UAS or other size-, weight-, and power-constrained systems.
  • Fluent with lab gear such as oscilloscopes, spectrum and network analyzers, and bench supplies for bring-up and debug.
  • Practical grasp of EMI/EMC in dense installations, plus test support at U.S. military installations.
  • Sharp attention to detail and a bias toward getting hardware flying.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active U.S. security clearance, Minimum Secret, TS or TS/SCI preferred.
  • Prior work on Department of War (DoW) programs.
  • Experience integrating gimbaled EO/IR, radar, SAR, or SIGINT/EW payloads and their power and data interfaces.
  • Familiarity with encrypted digital datalinks, SATCOM, and long‑range comms.
  • Experience multi‑frequency GNSS on small UAS in EW‑contested environments.
  • Experience with onboard starter/generator and power‑generation systems on small fixed‑wing UAS.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD (e.g., MIL-STD-461/704) and DO-160/DO-254.
  • Certified J-STD-001 for electrical soldering
What We Offer
  • 401k plan with company match.
  • Medical insurance: voluntary health insurance program.
  • Innovative projects: work in an international company that develops advanced technologies for the military sector and is actively growing in the global market.
  • Career opportunities: participation in internal competitions for new positions, working on various projects, and expanding your skills.
  • Competitive salary and a referral program for recommendations.
