Position Overview

Our government client in New York City is seeking a detail-oriented UAS (Drone) Program Coordinator to support the daily operations, regulatory compliance, administration, and technical coordination of its Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) program.

This early-career opportunity combines drone program coordination, FAA compliance, mission planning, equipment tracking, and physical security technology support, including Video Management Systems (VMS) and CCTV surveillance platforms.

The ideal candidate is organized, technically inclined, and familiar with drone operations, security technologies, or regulated operational environments. Strong documentation, analytical, and project coordination skills are essential.

This is a program coordination and technical operations support role—not primarily a drone pilot position.

  • Support compliance with FAA Part 107 regulations, airspace authorization requirements, and established safety procedures.
  • Maintain pilot rosters, FAA certification records, training schedules, and flight currency documentation.

  • Monitor camera system performance, connectivity, recording status, and storage availability.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting of video system outages, equipment issues, and technical concerns with support teams.
  • Assist with secure storage, organization, retrieval, and archiving of drone imagery and operational data.
  • Support project coordination activities, including schedules, action-item tracking, deliverables, and progress reporting.
  • Develop workflow diagrams, process documentation, and project materials using Microsoft Visio and related tools.
  • Collect and analyze operational metrics, including flight activity, safety performance, equipment readiness, and system availability.
  • Prepare professional reports, management presentations, meeting summaries, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with security operations, IT teams, field personnel, and external agencies to support UAS initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, documentation, safety, and program processes.
Required Qualifications

  • Understanding of FAA Part 107 regulations and commercial drone operational requirements.
  • Working knowledge of physical security technologies, technical systems, or security monitoring platforms.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Visio and familiarity with project management tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, including interpreting operational data, system logs, and performance metrics.

  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience.
  • Ability to work onsite in Lower Manhattan, with potential hybrid eligibility after the initial 2 months.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Approximately 2 years of experience in program coordination, technical operations, or a related field.
