Job summary

Heven AeroTech in Bingen, Washington, seeks an Aerodynamic Systems Engineer to design, analyze, and verify UAV aerodynamics throughout the lifecycle. You will perform airflow simulations, develop aerodynamic requirements, and ensure vehicle performance meets program goals in collaboration with structures, propulsion, and controls teams.

The role involves wind tunnel planning, data reduction, test correlation with CFD, and reporting findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering.
• 1–8 years experience in aerodynamics, CFD, or flight-vehicle design.
• Strong knowledge of lift, drag, stability, and control.
• Hands-on CFD experience with Fluent, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM, or CFD++.
• Python, MATLAB, or similar for data analysis.
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams and strong communication.
• S. Person status required per ITAR/export control regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform aerodynamic analysis of UAS airframes including lift, drag, stability, and control.
• Develop and maintain aerodynamic databases and 6-DOF simulation inputs.
• Define and verify aerodynamic performance requirements with traceability.
• Support wind tunnel test planning, execution, data reduction, and correlation.
• Conduct design verification activities to meet aero requirements.
• Collaborate with structures and propulsion teams on aero-structural interactions.
• Generate technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Contribute to aero-analytic tools and workflows.
