Job summary

Citi in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Communications Manager to support external and internal communications and protect Citi’s reputation in the UAE market. The role reports to the Head of Communications for the Middle East and will work with global teams to execute proactive communications strategies.

Responsibilities include media engagement, messaging for executives, brand amplification, and measurement of outcomes, with optional expansion to other Middle East markets as needed.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of professional experience in Communications and Public Relations, either in-house or agency preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding and a proven track record in media relations and stakeholder engagement.
• A team player with strong leadership qualities, excellent planning and project skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust priorities as needed.
• Excellent communications skills—editing, writing and digital communications.
• Experience in content creation for internal and external purposes.
• Social media content development experience and working knowledge of major social media platforms.
• Creativity and initiative; strong relationship management skills, ability to lead and influence at a senior level.
• Language: Fluency in English; Arabic skills are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop external communications strategy and plans for Citi in the UAE.
• Manage proactive engagement with key media outlets across the UAE and region.
• Develop messaging, briefing documents and speaking notes for senior executives.
• Amplify brand activities and events in the external market.
• Identify opportunities and build a strong pipeline of media and social media activity.
• Support evaluation and metrics related to Citi’s communications in the market.
• Develop and execute internal engagement plans and initiatives.
• Plan and manage internal communications channels and content.
• Plan and manage employee engagement events; develop content for events.
• Evaluate internal communications metrics and outcomes.
• Assess risk when business decisions are made to safeguard Citi’s reputation and comply with laws and policy.
• Develop and execute plans for volunteering and NGO partnerships.
