Program Summary KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey. Our services ensure smooth operations, allowing Air Force and government personnel to focus on their missions. We provide program management, civil engineering, morale, welfare, and recreation support, among other essential services. Awarded by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center, our contract spans a five-year base period with three one-year options, reflecting our commitment to excellence and operational support.

Job Summary Join KBR’s elite team at Morón Air Base in Spain as a War Reserve Material - Aerospace Ground Support Equipment (WRM - AGE) Technician and play a pivotal role in keeping military aviation flying. In this mission-critical expatriate position, you will be responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of a diverse fleet of powered and non-powered ground support equipment supporting the UABOS War Reserve Materiel (WRM) program. Our technicians function as the backbone of WRM and flight line operations, ensuring that essential power, hydraulic, and environmental control systems are fully mission-capable at a moment's notice. Roles and Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, periodic inspections, and safety checks on a wide range of powered and non-powered Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) / Ground Support Equipment (GSE). This includes Munitions Material Handling Equipment (MMHE) trailers, aluminum rail sets, and conveyors.
  • Perform final 7-level quality control inspections and formal sign-offs on inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance completed by mechanics, verifying strict compliance with Technical Orders (TOs) and safety directives.
  • Train, mentor, and guide junior mechanics as required to develop their technical troubleshooting, repair capabilities, and flight line safety awareness.
  • Diagnoses, troubleshoot, and repair complex mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems on units such as generators, air compressors, air conditioners, floodlights, and bomb lifts.
  • Service support equipment with fuel, engine oil, hydraulic fluid, coolant, water, and compressed air, ensuring all fluid levels are properly maintained.
  • Read, interpret, and strictly follow TOs, manufacturer manuals, electrical schematics, and engineering diagrams to perform precise repairs and modifications.
  • Document all maintenance actions, inspections, parts usage, and labor hours in paper-based logs and automated maintenance systems.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, enforcing strict tool control, Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention, and hazardous material/waste safety guidelines.
  • Dispatch, position, and recover support equipment on the flight line to facilitate active aircraft maintenance and flying operations.
  • Physical requirements include lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs. unassisted on a regular basis, and stand, bend, or kneel for extended periods in an active flightline/industrial environment.
Basic Qualifications
  • US Citizen
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience as an AGE or GSE Mechanic in a military or civilian aviation environment.
  • Must meet the standards of a US Air Force (USAF) AFSC 2A6X2 (Aerospace Ground Equipment/AGE) or AFSC 2W0X1 (Munitions Systems/AMMO) Journeyman or Craftsman (7-Level).
  • In lieu of a USAF background, equivalent experience in other US military branch ground support equipment (GSE)/ordnance roles, or civilian aviation ground support equipment maintenance at commercial airports, is fully acceptable.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing the Enterprise Logistics Management System (ELMS), Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS), or an equivalent automated military or civil aviation maintenance database to track, record, and document maintenance actions.
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification (Section 608) or equivalent environmental certification for refrigerant handling.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Ability to obtain and maintain US Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Successful completion of the formal USAF AGE Training Course or Munitions Systems Apprentice Course.
  • Prior experience supporting a War Reserve Materiel (WRM) program or working on military aircraft base operations support contracts.
  • Technical certifications in heavy diesel engine repair, advanced AC/DC electrical circuitry, or HVAC systems.
  • Heavy equipment towing experience and/or a valid forklift operator certification (up to 10k capacity).
