GAT is seeking dynamic individuals to join its team of aviation professionals.

Classification: Full Time, Non-Exempt

Job Summary

The Ramp Supervisor will be leading, directing, and coordinating the efforts of ground, line, and cabin service personnel and the timely delivery of all services for airlines as contracted. The Ramp Supervisor will take accountability for safety, operation standards, policy implementation, client relations, and financial performance for the ramp operations.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Establishing shift assignments for both full-time and part-time employees;
  2. Monitoring and responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of all airline ground support equipment;
  3. Reporting discrepancies that may exist both functional and mechanical on the ground support equipment;
  4. Coordinating between each assigned carrier to ensure that service for cargo and baggage meets the needs of the carrier to ensure on-time schedules are met;
  5. Responsible for equipment and ensuring its safe and efficient operating status;
  6. Conferring with other supervisors and managers to coordinate activities with other departments;
  7. Determining manpower requirements; ensuring disciplinary procedures are conducted in a fair, timely, and consistent manner;
  8. Ability to comply with attendance/tardiness standards;
  9. Able to perform under pressure and within fixed time constraints;
  10. Ensures necessary ground equipment is available in the ramp area and bag room for upcoming flights;
  11. Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous materials identification labels, aircraft loading manifest, and baggage routing tags;
  12. Follows and complies with all federal, state, municipal, airport authority, and carrier rules and regulations;
  13. Ensure crews are being briefed before flights on positions to take and how flight will work;
  14. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. Must possess computer experience (6+ months) and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel;
  2. Ability to navigate electronic devices (computers, fax machines, printers, timeclock, etc.);
  3. A proven track record in supervising a business unit;
  4. Experience in operational planning and resource allocation;
  5. Working knowledge of GSE maintenance issues;
  6. Experience and understanding of commercial issues in aviation;
  7. Must have a High School diploma or GED;
  8. Must be at least 18 years of age;
  9. Capable of processing information in a timely manner;
  10. Must have and maintain a Valid Driver's License;
  11. Able to proficiently speak, read, and write in English;
  12. Basic computer literacy;
  13. Previous ramp or airline experience;
  14. Must successfully complete all training requirements and maintain certifications throughout employment;
  15. Must clear an FBI fingerprint background check.

Physical Requirements

Must be physically fit to perform duties of the job including but not limited to standing, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time. Capable of repetitively lifting up to 70 pounds in confined spaces and repetitively. Must be physically fit to perform the duties of the job. Willing to work outside in all types of weather conditions with exposure to loud noises.

Specific Working Hours

Must be able and flexible to work variable shifts, weekends, and holiday-specific shifts to be determined. Must be able to work extended hours on short notice during non-routine operations.
