Job summary

Concept2, a global market leader in fitness ergometers, seeks a U.S. Controller to join our team in Morrisville, VT. You will guide the U.S. entity's accounting function, oversee month-end close, internal controls, and prepare reporting packages for senior leadership.

• Master’s degree and CPA are preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting or similar environment, including 2+ years of leadership experience.
• Accounting experience in a manufacturing setting is desired.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Detail-oriented and organized.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support for operational accounting, treasury, intercompany, and tax reporting for the U.S. entity.
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close functions per U.S. GAAP.
• Coach team members in applying U.S. GAAP.
• Coordinate U.S. team deliverables for annual financial statements and tax returns with external accountants.
• Lead review of internal control framework and implement improvements.
• Develop documentation to ensure consistent departmental duties.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and help implement changes.
• Collaborate with Global Finance and cross-functional teams on accounting and reporting projects.

Concept2, a global market leader in the manufacture of fitness ergometers and composite racing oars, is seeking a U.S. Controller to join our team in Morrisville, VT.

This role will focus on leading the U.S. entity's accounting function, including the close process, internal control development, and preparing reporting packages for company leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support for operational accounting, treasury, intercompany, and tax reporting requirements of the Company's U.S. entity.
• Ensure timely completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close functions in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP).
• Coach team members through the application of U.S. GAAP.
• Oversee the coordination of U.S. team's deliverables during the annual financial statement compilation and tax return preparation with external accountants.
• Lead review of internal control framework and implement improvements where needed.
• Develop documentation to ensure consistent performance of the department’s duties.
• Help the team identify opportunities for process improvement s and take an active role in implementation.
• Collaborate with Global Finance team members and cross-functional departments on various accounting, reporting, and other business initiatives.

Compensation for this position consists of a salary range of $100,000-$130,000, depending on experience, plus participation in a quarterly variable wage program that is based on company and employee performance, which adds significantly to total compensation.
