U-Haul is seeking a Storage Center General Manager in Memphis to drive profitability and efficiency. You will hire and mentor staff, manage inventory and fleet, control budgets, and ensure customers receive outstanding care. This role is fast-paced and rewards hands-on leadership.

Candidates should have 1–3 years of retail management with P&L accountability, strong computer skills, and the ability to work weekends and holidays. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of management experience in retail or service industry with responsibility for financial results and customer satisfaction.
• Computer expertise is required.
• Organizational expertise is required.
• Management proficiency in high-volume retail with P&L accountability.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform profit/loss analyses.
• Hire and mentor new team members.
• Track and itemize inventory.
• Manage the fleet to keep equipment clean and well-maintained.
• Manage the personnel budget.
• Ensure customers receive high-quality service.
• Track fuel receipts and petty cash.
• Maintain a secure, clean premises.
• Participate in ongoing U-Haul education via U-Haul University.

As a Storage Center General Manager, you will be responsible for keeping your center profitable and efficient by hiring effective staff, keeping track of inventory and solving problems as they arise. Minimum Requirements

Work Environment

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes or irritating chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors of remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
