Job summary

McWane Inc. is seeking a Forklift Operator in Alabama to move materials, load and unload items, and assist the production team while maintaining a safe work environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with forklifts, strong teamwork, and a commitment to quality and efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing setting in Oxford, AL.

Qualifications

• Experience operating forklifts and manual handling.
• Ability to follow PPE protocols and safety procedures.
• Comfort with daily equipment inspections.
• Capable of recording production data accurately.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to move raw materials and finished goods.

General Duties and Responsibilities

• Promote and uphold The McWane Way principles, values, and behaviors.
• Adhere to safety protocols outline in the Tyler Union Safety Management Program.
• Assist supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Follow ergonomic and safe lifting techniques.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report any issues.

Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities ( Other duties may be assigned.)

Drive ForkLift

• Operate machinery used in the production process or assist machine operators.
• Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Observe equipment operations so that malfunctions can be detected and notify operators of any malfunctions.
• Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items manually or using hoists.
• Count finished products to determine if product orders are complete.
• Mark or tag identification on parts.
• Load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances.
• Help production workers perform duties of lesser skill, such as supplying or holding materials or tools or cleaning work areas and equipment.
• Use appropriate tools to finish castings based on quality specifications.
• Clean and lubricate equipment.
• Record information, such as the number of products tested, meter readings, or dates and times of product production.
