Tyler Union, a division of McWane, Inc., is the nation's leading manufacturer of Ductile Iron Waterworks Fittings and Appurtenances. We have an immediate opening for a Foundry Production Supervisor at our Oxford facility. Tyler Union's main manufacturing plant is located in Anniston, AL.

The Production Supervisor will directly oversee, coordinate, and plan production activities on molding lines, core machines, finishing operations, or melt operations in a ductile iron foundry producing pipe fittings for the waterworks industry. The role involves integrating safety, environmental, quality, and human resources support into all production operations. The supervisor will promote The McWane Way principles, values, and behaviors and embody the Compass Culture.

This is a salaried exempt position offering an excellent benefits package, including health, life, dental, and vision insurance, short-term and long-term disability, vacation, holiday pay, and a 401(k).

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:

  • Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Tyler Union Safety Management Program. Always adhere to company safety rules and work safely.
  • Promote The McWane Way principles, values, and behaviors and live the Compass Culture.
  • Oversee daily operations supporting the production area and direct team members' activities.
  • Facilitate daily startup meetings, emphasizing safety and team unity.
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet goals.
  • Ensure effective quality processes are in place.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors to ensure smooth communication and transition of products and activities. Inspect materials, products, or equipment for defects.
  • Train team members in equipment operation, work procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and records to determine requirements and evaluate outputs.
  • Maintain production data and prepare management reports.
  • Address worker issues by consulting with management or HR.
  • Recommend measures to motivate staff and improve production, equipment performance, and quality.
  • Monitor electronic time and attendance records for team members.
  • Observe team behavior, document actions, and recommend discipline when necessary.
  • Issue disciplinary actions within established timeframes.
  • Work in shifts as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of manufacturing experience, on-the-job training, or vocational training required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Physical Demands

Activities may involve climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, balancing, walking, standing, stooping, and handling tools and materials. Protective gear such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats must be worn.

Work Environment

The environment varies from office settings to plant conditions that may be hot, cold, dusty, or noisy. Regular plant visits are required, with safety gear as necessary. Reasonable accommodations can be provided for individuals with disabilities.
