The Goddard School located in Chicago (South Loop), IL 60616 is looking for motivated self-starters for multiple positions as Daycare Teachers at our new preschool for ages ranging from 6 weeks to 6 years. Our state-of-the-art facility is expanding in the South Loop neighborhood of Chicago downtown, just blocks away from CTA and Metra Electric.
Overview
A Two's Lead Teacher is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment. Additionally, a teacher is responsible for working together with another teacher and in conjunction with the entire faculty.
Educational Qualifications
- An Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Elementary Education, Child Development or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Elementary Education, Child Development or a related field is preferred.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification.
Two's Lead Teacher Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment.
- Develop an appropriate classroom management system to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom.
- Ensure that children are always within state ratio requirements.
- Perform cleaning responsibilities (e.g., spills) immediately.
- Advance children’s physical and intellectual competence.
- Adapt program to meet the individual needs of each child.
- Create a multi-cultural learning environment.
- Provide a variety of developmentally appropriate activities to engage children in learning.
- Respect cultural and ethnic diversity.
- Communicate, in a professional manner, with families and faculty.
- Encourage families to become an integral part of their children’s learning experiences.
- Maintain a portfolio for each child.
- Maintain the classroom Parent Board.
- Perform child observations and document in their portfolios, using assessment tools (e.g., Progress Reports, Children’s Progress).
- Attend faculty meetings, in-service days, conferences and professional growth opportunities.
