Job summary

The Department of Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame, in conjunction with the Notre Dame Ethics Initiative, invites applications for up to two postdoctoral fellows working in ethics. The term of the fellowship will be two years: from July 1, 2027 to June 30, 2029.

Fellows will hold primary appointments in the Philosophy Department and be affiliated with ECG and the Jenkins Center for Virtue Ethics. Each fellow will receive $80,000 per year plus full benefits.

Qualifications

• PhD completed between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2027.
• Strong research agenda in ethics with scholarly contributions.
• Ability to teach and present research to the department and ECG.

Responsibilities

• Teach a 1:1 teaching load annually for the Department of Philosophy.
• Affiliated with the Institute for Ethics and the Common Good (ECG) and Jenkins Center for Virtue Ethics.
• Present research to faculty and participate in ECG activities.
