Job Summary
Provide security as outlined in the post orders and establish relationships with customers, law enforcement, and fire departments. Maintain awareness of surroundings, noting all activity in the assigned area. Maintain a professional image and demonstrate excellent customer service.

Basic Functions

• Control entrances and manage pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
• Patrol buildings and perimeters.
• Escort materials and personnel.
• Inspect security and fire exposures.
• Perform special assignments as needed.

Responsibilities

Duties vary by department size, structure, location, and post. Reasonable accommodations will be made for ADA requirements. General functions include:

• Report to post on time in full uniform.
• Greet customers, visitors, and employees professionally.
• Stay updated on post orders and information from the customer and AFS.
• Patrol or monitor fixed posts, report suspicious activity, and investigate incidents.
• Monitor cameras and equipment as per post orders.
• Know emergency policies, procedures, and regulations to respond effectively.
• Complete reports such as Daily Activity Reports, Log Books, and Incident Reports.
• Recommend safety and loss prevention improvements.
• Understand life safety systems, fire panels, CCTV, and other equipment.
• Ensure operation and maintenance of elevators and access controls.
• Meet training and compliance guidelines set by AFS and regulatory agencies.
• Communicate daily with Security Supervisors about issues or updates.
