Piedmont Community College seeks part-time tutors to support students in the Learning Commons on the Person County (Roxboro) and Caswell County (Yanceyville) campuses. Tutors may cover math, chemistry, English, history, biology, nursing, and other subjects; schedule varies with student needs.

Responsibilities include guiding sessions, documenting progress, and assisting distance-learning students as needed.

• Associate degree or higher in the subject area or be a current PCC student with a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Description

This posting is a recruitment pool for potential tutors in the Learning Commons on the Person County (Roxboro, NC) and/or Caswell County (Yanceyville, NC) Campuses of Piedmont Community College. Hiring for this position is contingent upon PCC student needs, funding, and scheduling throughout the year. This posting may close at any time without notice. The hourly rate for this part-time role is dependent upon qualifications. We will be hiring tutors in various subject areas including but not limited to Math, Chemistry, English, History, Biology, and Nursing. If selected, the candidate reviewer will contact you to discuss the opportunity.

• Tutors may be asked to facilitate face‑to‑face synchronous class meetings and to provide support for distance learning students.

Typical Qualifications

• Associate Degree or higher or Current College Student with 3.0 GPA or higher in the subject area.
• The optimal candidate will also have outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
