Job summary

Ace Academy in San Jose is seeking an experienced SAT Reading & Writing Tutor for in-person weekend sessions to help middle and high school students prepare for the Digital SAT. Classes run Saturdays 9:00 AM–5:00 PM and Sundays 9:00 AM–12:00 PM.

The role requires strong SAT Reading & Writing expertise, the ability to explain concepts clearly, identify student gaps, and deliver targeted instruction. On-site weekend commitment is essential. Pay is $30.00–$45.00 per hour, with a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of SAT or test-prep teaching/tutoring experience.
• Strong English grammar, reading, and writing skills.
• Must commit to weekend teaching schedule.
• Experience with a test-prep company or education organization is a plus.

SAT Reading & Writing Tutor (weekend hours)

In-Person | San Jose, CA | Part-Time | $30-45/hour

Ace Academy is seeking an experienced SAT Reading & Writing Tutor to provide in-person instruction to middle and high school students preparing for the Digital SAT.

We are looking for someone with strong SAT Reading & Writing expertise who can explain concepts clearly, identify student weaknesses, and help students improve both skills and test performance. This is an in-person, weekend-only teaching role, with classes scheduled Saturdays 9:00 AM–5:00 PM and Sundays 9:00 AM–12:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Teach in-person SAT Reading & Writing classes and/or small-group sessions.
• Prepare students for the current Digital SAT Reading & Writing section.
• Teach reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary in context, rhetoric, and test-taking strategies.
• Identify student strengths and gaps and provide targeted instruction.
• Review SAT practice questions and explain correct answers and common distractors clearly.
• Track student progress and provide feedback when needed.
• Maintain an engaging, structured, and supportive classroom environment.
• Follow established SAT curriculum and instructional standards.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the current Digital SAT Reading & Writing section.
• 2+ years of SAT or test-prep teaching/tutoring experience.
• Strong English grammar, reading, and writing skills.
• Able to explain concepts clearly and help students improve SAT performance.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Reliable and able to work consistently on-site.
• Must be able to consistently commit to the required weekend teaching schedule.
• Experience with a test-prep company, tutoring center, or education organization preferred.

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
