Job Details Job Location: Big Ideas Learning LLC - Erie, PA Position Type: Part Time Salary Range: $20.00 - $24.00 Hourly Description

Do you have a love for math and enjoy helping students succeed? Join our team as an online math tutor and provide mathematical help to students via web-based text chats.

This is a remote position open to candidates located throughout the United States.

Responsibilities:

• Provide mathematical tutorial help (via online text-based chat) for middle school math through Algebra II/Geometry and/or Linear Algebra/Calculus.
• Assist other tutors as needed.
• Monitor chats for inappropriate behavior, implement appropriate redirection, and report incidents to supervisor.
• Tutor students using student-driven, differentiated approaches, and using grade-appropriate, mathematically correct language.
• Communicate with co-workers, management, students, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
• Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
• Complete mandatory quarterly training.

Requirements:

• Recent graduate of a BS degree in mathematics or mathematics education program or current student with 3+ years of experience as a tutor at BIL.
• Experience teaching middle or high school math preferred
• Demonstrate math proficiency up to and including Algebra II/Geometry and/or Linear Algebra/Calculus.
• Access to a computer and high-speed internet.
• Demonstrate strong written communication skills.
• Demonstrate best practices in math education when working with students.
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team.
• Minimum commitment of 12 hours per week for students or 8 hours per week for teachers.
• Act 153 clearances required.
