Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking a skilled Turret Punch Press Operator to join our Indianapolis-area manufacturing team. You will read blueprints, set up and operate the turret punch press, input data into Traverse Manufacturing System, and ensure accurate counts and quality on each part.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent, 1 year of related experience, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent and 1 year of related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and operation sheets to determine set-up and operations.
• Ability to set up and operate Turret Punch Press, input and maintain data in Traverse Manufacturing System.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong mathematical skills to manage units of measure, fractions, decimals, whole numbers.

Responsibilities

• Operate Turret Punch Press and align/lock punches and dies per charts.
• Read blueprints and work instructions to determine operations and punch charts.
• Maintain accurate counts on completed parts and scrap, record production data.
• Inspect parts with gauges to ensure dimensional accuracy and report issues.
• Keep tools and work area clean, safe, and organized.

Job description

What You’ll Do:- Inserts, aligns, and locks punches and dies in turret; places work-piece on table and aligns work-piece to scale and end gauge on machine and clamps it to machine table; pushes button to turn turret to specified punch and die; and turns cranks to set indicator to specified dimension on forward and lateral machine scale.Presses pedal to activate punch; Repeats operation for each machine setting specified on charts; and positions center punch from turret to touch plate and turns crank to scratch layout linesReads and interprets blueprints and work operations sheets to determine appropriate operationsComputes punch charts from blueprints and punches holes in nonmetallic materialsUses inspection gauges such as calipers (both dial and vernier), micrometers, squares, and height gauges to perform quality checks on parts as outlined by AQL and work instructions; reports dimensional problems to supervisor or set-up person.Maintains and ensures accurate counts on completed parts and scrapped parts; completes production paperwork and makes required entries into company data base.Maintains tools, measuring instruments, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner; reports all equipment problems or malfunctions to supervisor/manager immediately; and maintains clean, orderly and safe work areas at all times.What You’ll Need:- High School diploma or equivalent1 year of related experience and/or trainingAbility to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
