Job summary

Methode Electronics Inc. is seeking an operator for CNC turret punch press equipment to fabricate sheet metal components. Set-up and changeovers, programming and minor tooling adjustments are required to meet product specifications.

You will load/unload stock, deburr parts, and inspect using calipers and gauges to ensure workmanship standards. The role includes daily maintenance and safety compliance, with second shift hours (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM) and potential overtime.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2+ years of experience setting up and operating machines; could be entry level with training.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints/drawings.
  • Must read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

  • Perform machine set-up/changeover on CNC turret punch press to meet specs.
  • Operate equipment to meet production requirements and quality goals.
  • Make minor adjustments to correct output.
  • Load/unload sheet metal stock, stage and deburr parts.
  • Use calipers, micrometers and gauges to verify part quality.
  • Perform daily/weekly/monthly maintenance per manual.
  • Maintain neat, safe work area and follow safety rules.
  • Possess forklift experience or ability to obtain forklift certification.

Job description

Performs set-up, operation, and minor maintenance of CNC turret punch press equipment in assigned work area to fabricate sheet metal components from flat stock.Position Responsibilities:Perform machine set-up/changeover on CNC turret punch press equipment to produce the required product or components by making mechanical adjustments (tooling, dies) to meet product specificationsPerform first time set-up of equipment for new products through programming, profiling, and mechanical/software adjustmentsOperate equipment to achieve production requirements and quality goals. Make minor adjustments to correct machine output as neededPerform manual production operations as required, e.g., load and unload sheet metal stock, stage and deburr finished partsUse of calipers, micrometers, gauges to inspect machine output to verify proper part configuration and workmanship standards are being metPerform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities in accordance with machine operation manual or maintenance work instructionMaintain neat and orderly work areas and comply with all safety rulesForklift experience desired or ability to get/maintain forklift certificationOther duties as assignedQualifications:Due to U.S. export control laws and regulations (ITAR), applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, or otherwise qualify as a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.62).
