Job summary

Jetro/Restaurant Depot in Streetsboro, OH, is seeking a diligent Turret Operator to support our distribution center’s fast-paced order fulfillment.

You will operate turret trucks in narrow aisles, perform inventory checks, use RF scanners and WMS, and uphold safety and food-handling standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One year of experience operating powered industrial equipment preferred.
  • Turret/swing reach/high-reach forklift experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain equipment certifications.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory control.
  • Experience using RF scanners and warehouse management systems preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
  • Basic math skills to count and reconcile quantities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced food distribution environment.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret order documents, RF scanner instructions, and warehouse management system tasks.
  • Operate turret truck safely in narrow aisles to retrieve and store products.
  • Pick and replenish product accurately while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
  • Verify product descriptions, quantities, lot numbers, and locations during picking and replenishment activities.
  • Utilize RF scanners and warehouse management systems to record inventory movements and complete warehouse transactions.
  • Inspect products for damage and report discrepancies, shortages, or quality concerns to management.
  • Transport pallets and products throughout the warehouse while following traffic patterns and safety guidelines.
  • Perform daily pre-shift equipment inspections and report maintenance issues or unsafe conditions.
  • Assist with inventory control activities, including cycle counts, inventory audits, and stock verification.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with company policies and food safety standards.
  • Communicate and cooperate effectively with supervisors, warehouse associates, and inventory personnel.
  • Adhere to all OSHA, company safety, food safety, and warehouse operating procedures.
  • Maintain good attendance and adherence to scheduled work hours.
  • Assist in maintaining the security and integrity of warehouse inventory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job description

We are seeking a diligent, safety-conscious Turret Operator to support the efficient operation of our distribution center and order fulfillment processes.

  • The Turret Operator is responsible for operating a turret truck to pick, replenish, relocate, store, and retrieve product in narrow aisle warehouse environments.
  • A successful Turret Operator works accurately and efficiently while maintaining productivity standards and adhering to all safety procedures.
  • The Turret Operator plays a critical role in ensuring inventory accuracy and timely order fulfillment in a fast-paced food distribution facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Read and interpret order documents, pick tickets, RF scanner instructions, and warehouse management system tasks.
  • Operate a turret truck safely and efficiently in narrow aisles to retrieve and store products at varying rack heights.
  • Pick and replenish product accurately while maintaining established productivity and quality standards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.

  • Stand, walk, bend, twist, reach, squat, and climb on and off equipment throughout the workday.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull products weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Operate warehouse equipment for extended periods of time.
  • Reach above shoulder level to access products stored at varying rack heights.
  • Use hands and fingers to operate equipment controls, scanners, and warehouse equipment.
  • Must be able to hear warning signals, equipment alarms, and verbal communications in a warehouse environment.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must maintain a high degree of concentration while operating powered industrial equipment at elevated heights.
  • Ability to work at heights while operating a turret truck in elevated operator compartments.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the Turret Operator regularly works near moving mechanical equipment and is exposed to warehouse traffic, vibration, and moderate to high noise levels. The work environment includes narrow aisles, congested work areas, and frequent interaction with forklifts, pallet jacks, and other powered industrial equipment. Walking and working are performed primarily on concrete flooring. Duties are performed in warehouse environments with varying temperatures, including refrigerated and freezer storage areas. Temperatures in freezer environments may be below zero degrees. The Turret Operator regularly works at elevated heights while operating equipment and must be comfortable performing duties in high rack storage locations. Shift end times may fluctuate based on daily operational requirements.
