Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Industrial Hygienist to lead health-related initiatives, develop IH systems, and train employees across the Cortez operation. The role focuses on promoting health, safety awareness, and loss prevention for employees and contractors.

Applicants should have a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Hygiene or equivalent experience, strong data analysis skills, and familiarity with MSHA regulations. Mining background is a plus and Cority experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Hygiene or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency with occupational exposure assessments, sampling equipment, and data interpretation.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Knowledge of State and MSHA regulations and the ability to work cooperatively with regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, and coordinate IH initiatives following Nevada Gold Mines Occupational Health and Hygiene process.
• Implement, evaluate and maintain IH standards, policies, and programs.
• Develop and instruct IH and MSHA topics with all employees including new hire, annual refresher and toolbox training sessions as required.
• Develop sampling plans and conduct sampling.
• Collect, maintain, and analyze data using various methods of inferential statistics.
• Maintain records, develop reports, and engage stakeholders in all IH matters with a focus on controlling health hazards.
• Direct work of Industrial Hygiene Technicians.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an Industrial Hygienist at our Cortez operation. The successful candidate will provide leadership and be a resource in health-related matters, develop systems and policies, analyze, train, and promote health and safety awareness and loss prevention for employees and contractors.

• Manage Cority (formerly Medgate), Managing iNet Gas Monitoring Stations, and other IH computer applications
• Direct work of Industrial Hygiene Technicians
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Hygiene or related field or a combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Hygiene required
• Proficiency with occupational exposure assessments, sampling equipment, and data interpretation required
• Professional certifications such as CIH, CSP, or the ability to obtain certification preferred
• Strong Microsoft Office skills required
• Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the position required
• Strong communication and public speaking skills required
• Previous mining experience preferred
• Previous experience operating Cority(Medgate) EHS software system preferred
• Knowledge of State and MSHA regulations and the ability to work cooperatively with regulatory agencies preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment required
