Job summary

Cessna Aircraft Company in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Turning Mach Opr (Machinist Intern) for the 1st shift. You will set up and operate turning machines to produce experimental, tooling and production parts, working with a range of materials and attachments.

This internship requires about one year of related experience or the equivalent technical education. You will select speeds and feeds, devise tooling, perform layouts, and use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions.

Qualifications

• One year of experience performing turning operations or the equivalent technical education.

WORK PERFORMED:

Sets up and operates various turning machines performing a wide range of machining operations on experimental, tooling and production parts.Performs routine work on all types of materials.May perform any operation within the capability of the machine.Selects speeds and feeds, devises tooling and performs layout for varying conditions and materials using a variety of attachments.Will not be retained in this position longer than two (2) years.

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT USED:

Various conventional, NC and CNC turning machines and attachments, machinists’ hand

Tools and a variety of precision measuring instruments.

EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENT:

One (1) year performing the work above, or the equivalent technical education.
