Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Special Education SAR teacher with an SEI Endorsement to join our community of learners and leaders. This role emphasizes high expectations, equity, and inclusive practice within a chronically underperforming school.

Reports to: Principal/Head of school; duties include IEP goals, progress reporting, and collaboration with staff to support diverse learners and families. Massachusetts licensure required.

Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor's degree.
• Hold a Massachusetts Teaching License in Moderate Disabilities for the appropriate grade level.
• Hold either ESL License at the appropriate level or SEI Endorsement.
• Meet all state and federal guidelines to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified.
• Authorization to work in the United States by start date.

Responsibilities

• Implement district learning goals aligned with state frameworks; identify access points for portfolios.
• Provide small-group instruction for students with moderate to severe cognitive delays.
• Write and implement IEP goals with regular progress reports.
• Provide accommodations and, if needed, develop curriculum and assess progress for MCAS Alternative.
• Collaborate with school staff to support student needs and modifications.
• Assist students transitioning to adult living services where appropriate.
