Job Summary

Under limited supervision of the Security Sergeant or Captain, Turnaround (TAR) Security Officers provide security and protection of work site(s), personnel, and assets from events such as trespassing, assault, theft, vandalism, harassment, and other disruptive incidents at Cheniere Sabine Pass. Comply with DUS and client safety guidelines, policies, and procedures.

The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but the company may identify other duties of the position. These responsibilities may differ depending on business necessities and client requirements.

  • This is a part-time/seasonal position during a refinery turnaround period, tentatively from May 2025 to June 2025, with potential for permanent employment based on staffing needs and performance.

Work Schedule

Hours vary based on business needs. During turnaround, overtime opportunities are available. Open availability and flexibility are required, including working on scheduled days off and covering open shifts when needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Reliable transportation to/from work
  • Military, law enforcement, or security experience preferred but not required
  • Unarmed Security Officer License (or ability to obtain)
  • TWIC card (or ability to obtain)
  • Proficient in English (reading, writing, understanding)
  • Ability to pass criminal background check, drug screening, and physical evaluation

Desired Qualifications

  • Two years of law enforcement, military police, corrections, or private security experience within the past five years; military experience may substitute law enforcement experience
  • Experience in a refinery or industrial setting
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry
  • First Aid and CPR certified; refinery safety standards knowledge
  • Conversational Spanish skills

Essential Functions

  • Vehicle searches, including feeling/detecting objects and walking on uneven terrain
  • Confront suspicious persons, assess threats, and respond appropriately
  • Assist in rescue operations during emergencies and disasters
  • Use fire extinguishers and other means to extinguish fires
  • Communicate effectively over radio channels
  • Conduct investigations, interview witnesses, and document findings
  • Read and follow policies and procedures
  • Operate vehicles during day/night in various settings
  • Perform visual surveillance for extended periods
  • Recognize and recall characteristics of persons, vehicles, and locations
  • Enforce post orders and company policies
  • Maintain a professional appearance and uniform
  • Work alertly and safely; report for emergent matters as needed
  • Perform other duties as required and work at various locations

Working Environment

Work in confined spaces such as guard posts or patrol vehicles, often for long hours, in refinery and railyard settings with diverse personnel.

Physical Demands

Routine walking, standing, sitting, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds. Successful completion of a physical assessment is required.
