Job summary

Coldwater Landscapes, LLC is seeking a Turf Tech to manage a weekly route, mix and apply fertilizers and pesticides, and address client concerns. You will identify turf issues, communicate effectively with customers, and support seasonal landscape tasks.

The role requires knowledge of pesticides, safe handling, and the ability to operate lawn equipment. Local travel and physical effort are involved.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of spray tech experience preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to obtain pesticide licenses or permits as needed.
• Strong organization, time management, and communication skills.
• Read and understand standard pesticide labeling and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Accurately mix, and apply pesticides, fertilizers, and herbicides.
• Review routes to ensure materials and tools are on the truck and follow special instructions.
• Conduct daily pre-trip truck inspections.
• Operate general landscape equipment safely.
• Provide excellent customer service and upsell services.
• Daily communication with the Production Manager regarding concerns or pest problems.
• Attend crew and safety meetings.
• Assist with seasonal tasks such as annual flower installation.

Job DetailsJob Location: 101 Ford Street - Muscle Shoals, AL 35661Position Summary

The Turf Tech is responsible for maintaining a weekly route of customers, accurately mixing, and applying fertilizers and pesticides to the customers’ lawns or landscapes. This role is also responsible for identifying any issues, providing excellent communication, and assisting in the resolution of any customer issues or concerns.

Responsibilities

This work may include but is not limited to:

• Accurately handle, mix, and apply pesticides, fertilizers, and herbicides
• Review daily routes to ensure proper materials and tools are on the truck and acknowledge special instructions for specific properties.
• Conducts pre-trip truck inspections daily.
• Observe and identify major turf types and ornamental pests/formulate safe and effective remedies.
• Safely operates general landscape equipment.
• Provides excellent customer service when interacting with customers.
• Knowledge of all services offered to enhance upsell opportunities.
• Always maintain proper environmental and public safety practices.
• Understands and follows all related pesticide safety protocols including wearing proper PPE as required.
• Maintain the Chemical Storage area in a clean and organized manner.
• Daily Communication with the Production Manager regarding concerns or pest problems
• Attend and participate in crew and department general and safety meetings.
• Assist with seasonal tasks such as annual flower installation and enhancements.

Environment

This position requires the ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, climb, and kneel and the ability to lift up to 80 pounds daily. This position is regularly exposed to all weather conditions. Physical hazards such as noise, fumes, and dirt are present due to the equipment. This position routinely uses heavy machinery and lawn tools. This position requires local, day travel.

• Knowledge of vehicles and landscaping equipment
• Ability to obtain Pesticide specialty licenses or permits as needed.
• Ability to work around bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns, and other environmental risks.
• Must be able to read and understand standard Pesticide Labeling and perform proper procedures for mixing.
