Job summary

Sydenstricker Nobbe Partners Farmington location is seeking a skilled service technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain John Deere equipment and related turf machinery. You will operate in a day shift, document work orders, and contribute to customer clinics and field service as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, valid driver's license, and solid mechanical/electrical/hydraulic knowledge. You will work with a supportive team and ongoing safety and training programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Experience performing service repairs with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience using computer-based diagnostic tools such as Service ADVISOR.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance on agricultural and turf equipment.
• May require guidance from the Service Manager, Location Manager or Shop Foreman.
• Performs diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment and technology; documents work orders promptly.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs complex diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment.
• May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager, Service Location Manager, or Shop Foreman.
• Performs diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment and technology.
• Mentors Service Technician Trainees and Service Technicians.
• Conducts or supports customer clinics.
• Performs diagnostics and repairs in the field as required.
• Accountable for billable time and assigned work orders.
• Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and for timely submittal of information.
• May participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.
• Operates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilities.
• Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
• Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.

Qualifications

• Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge performing service repairs.
• Demonstrated experience consistently meeting performance metrics preferred.
• Experience performing repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures on machines within the technician's specialty.
• Experience with the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in off‑road, construction, lawn, or heavy equipment.
• Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
• Experience with basic computer functions; experience using Service ADVISOR or other computer‑based diagnostic repair tools preferred.
• Experience working cooperatively in a team environment.
• Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
• Must have an adequate toolset to perform job responsibilities.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred.
• Time Management skills.
