Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SIA) seeks an experienced Consultant in turbomachinery structural design and analysis, focusing on gas or steam turbines.

You will apply advanced thermal and structural analysis to support rotating equipment projects, fitness-for-service evaluations, and remaining life assessments. The role involves developing analytical digital twin models using CAD and FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus) and integrating thermo-fluid results into structural analyses, plus

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in turbomachinery design/analysis.
• Proficiency with 2D/3D modeling of turbomachinery components using CAD software.
• Experience with ANSYS or Abaqus, and thermodynamic/CFD tools like AxStream.
• Knowledge of creep, fatigue, fracture mechanics and remaining life assessments.
• Ability to lead complex analyses and communicate results clearly.
• Strong Excel skills and client-facing communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced FEA thermal and structural analyses of turbomachinery components.
• Develop detailed 2D/3D models of rotors and blades for analysis and reverse engineering.
• Conduct ASME code evaluations and ensure compliance with standards.
• Create and maintain analytical digital twin models for gas/steam turbines.
• Integrate thermo-fluid results into structural FEA models.
• Assess operating conditions, stresses, and remaining service life.
• Support NDE result evaluations and lifecycle assessments.
• Prepare technical reports and client presentations.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
