Job description

FieldCore is looking for an exceptional Turbine Mechanic to join our technical field team based in Poland.

As part of the Gas Power One Field Services team, FieldCore installs, maintains and upgrades power generation equipment, enabling operators of the world’s energy infrastructure to provide more reliable and affordable energy.

Let’s Talk about the Role

As a Mechanic working on Gas and Steam Turbines, you will safely accomplish the installation, maintenance, and repair of the heavy rotating machinery used mainly in power generation applications.

How You Will Make a Difference:

  1. Read blueprints, schematic drawings and technical documentation to determine proper work procedures.
  2. Install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints and other drawings in industrial establishments.
  3. Dismantle and assemble machinery and equipment using a variety of hand, power, pneumatic and hydraulic tools.
  4. Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs on power tools, hand tools and training equipment.
  5. Align machinery and equipment using hoists, squares, rules, micrometers, plumb bobs, dial indicators and/or laser alignment equipment.
  6. Perform machining and welding operations for making various parts for lab and shop training equipment.
  7. Perform material and machine inspections using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, rules, calipers, protractors, and torque wrenches.
  8. Responsible for shipping and receiving all major pieces for T&D, plus all shipping, receiving, inventory, and control of tools, equipment and supplies.
  9. Determine equipment specifications and prepare parts lists for purchasing, consisting of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic devices as needed to complete assigned projects.
  10. Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment and supplies.

Special Role Requirements:

  1. Able to travel extensively overseas to and from projects and various field assignments.
  2. Willing to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments.
  3. Ability to spend considerable time away from home for training and field assignments.

Skills for Success:

You will be a capable mechanic with experience maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial service equipment including various pumps, motors, fans, generators, and turbines.

Furthermore, you:

  1. Are required to have experience performing equipment alignments using either laser or traditional methods.
  2. Must have a Driver’s License.
  3. Will have solid skills acquired with training and required to disassemble and reassemble complex rotating equipment – Bolting, Hydraulic Bolting, Flange Management, Small Bore Piping, Basic Rigging/Lifting, O/H Crane Operator.
  4. Must work well both independently and in a team environment.
  5. Should be fluent in English; German language skills would be beneficial.
