Rate of Pay: $22.51 hour

QUALIFICATIONS:Custodial or janitorial work experience.High School graduate, preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Custodial and the building administrator: maintain buildings in a clean, attractive, and functional order; establish and maintain effective relationships with school staff. Observe safety rules and regulations; maintain safe working conditions.Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

  1. Sweep, mop, scrub, and maintain hard floors.
  2. Vacuum, spot, and extract carpets.
  3. Clean and disinfect restrooms, shower rooms, and locker rooms.
  4. Replace hand soap and paper products, as needed.
  5. Collect and dispose of trash and refuse.
  6. Clean and sanitize lunchroom tables and seats. Set up and move lunch tables, as required.
  7. Clean and disinfect hand washing sinks and water fountains.
  8. Clean windows, glass, and mirrors.
  9. Remove graffiti, as required.
  10. High dust and clean air vents.
  11. Clean entryway doors, frames, and thresholds.
  12. Pick up litter around building exterior.
  13. Replace ceiling light bulbs, as needed.
  14. Perform minor repairs, replace HVAC filters, flush eye wash stations, as assigned.
  15. Clean garbage containers.
  16. Sweep, pressure-wash, remove snow and ice from exterior sidewalks and entryways, as needed.
  17. Move district furniture, as required.
  18. Observe security of buildings, doors, and windows; report material deficiencies, as needed.
  19. Assist with internal and external facility user group events, as needed.
  20. Assist Lead Custodian with deep cleaning custodial tasks, as required.
  21. Operate and maintain custodial equipment. Report malfunctions, as needed.
  22. Perform other duties as assigned by the Custodial Supervisor and/or administrator.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills of custodial work.
  • Punctual and dependable, maintain attendance requirements per Union/District Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Preferred experience with computer operated building systems, keyless entrance, fire, and sprinkler systems.
