Job summary

Martinrea is seeking a Quality/Destruct technician at our Tulsa facility to ensure parts meet tolerance and quality standards. You will perform plasma cutting, grinding, and destruct tests, using gauges and micrometers to inspect parts and report defects.

Join a team focused on quality and safety, following IATF 16949 procedures in a fast-paced environment. You will work with gages, metrology tools, and destruct equipment to support production goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; working toward post-secondary education in Quality or Engineering.
• Basic understanding of GMAW process and Weld Lab / Destruct techniques.
• Weld lab, weld quality, or weld destruct experience.
• GMAW, plasma, and fabrication experience.
• Minimum 2 years QA/quality inspection experience in automotive manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Perform plasma cutting, grinding, and polishing.
• Multi task, handle stress, adapt to changes and work well with others.
• Follow work instructions to comply with IATF 16949 requirements.
• Use gauges and micrometers to inspect part quality.
• Report defective material to supervisor.

Job Summary:

Performs destruct of parts to ensure quality tolerance is met.

Major Accountabilities

• Perform plasma cutting, grinding, and polishing
• Multi task, handle stress, implement advice, avoid distractions, adapt to changes, and work well with others
• Follow work instructions and routines to comply with IATF 16949 requirements
• Use of a gages and micrometers to inspect the quality of a part
• Report defective material or questionable condition to production department supervisor
• Operation of robotic weld machines
• Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook

Qualification

• High School Diploma or equivalent and working towards completion of post-secondary education in Quality or Engineering
• A basic understanding of the GMAW process and the Weld Lab / Destruct techniques used to evaluate it
• Weld Lab, Weld Quality, or Weld Destruct experience
• GMAW, plasma, and fabrication experience
• Minimum 2 years Q.A. and/or quality inspection and/or practical related automotive manufacturing experience
• Knowledge of IATF 16949; ISO 14001: 2015
• Ability to understand, monitor and maintain adherence to the non-conforming/containment
• Procedures/processes
• Able to logically think through problems and provide recommendations for solutions
• Able to use and understand inspection cards and fixtures, Understands and can demonstrate first-off procedures for all processes
• Basic knowledge of Metrology
• Understand tolerance requirements as seen on a print.
• Computer, measuring instruments, communication devices, plasma cutter, air chisels and other destructing tools
