Job summary

Interface in West Point, GA is seeking a Setup Technician to manage changeovers of creels and tufting machines, loading and unloading creels, and operating equipment to keep downtime to a minimum. The role requires basic math, clear communication, and adherence to safety and environmental rules.

Candidates with tufting or textile experience are preferred. The position is based in a non climate-controlled factory environment and offers on-site work with standard full-time hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Intermediate math skills including fractions, decimals and percentages.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Normal color vision or average to above average shade discernment.
• Tu ft ing and textile experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Locate paperwork and master for next run and stage at machine.
• Check next creel set for correct thread-up and stage at tufting machines.
• Cut out creels set and burn in new set.
• Run burns through needles and check for misdraws.
• Record changeover time on production report.
• Operate tufting machines.
• Relieve operators for breaks.
• Load and unload all creels to the proper thread up.
• Recognize quality problems and make corrections when operating tufting machines.
• Deposit all yarn and headers scrap into specific containers to be recycled.
• Maximize recycling of all recyclable materials and minimize waste.
• Maintain a daily log of production.
• Maintain housekeeping.
• Comply with safety rules and environmental regulations.
• Be aware of MSDS.
• Ensure ISO procedures are followed.
• Support Interface commitment to sustainability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
