Job summary

Mohawk Industries is seeking a Tufting Machine Operator for the Dalton, GA area. You will operate tufting machines to produce level loop, patterned loop, cut pile, or enhanced graphics carpets.

Responsibilities include machine setup checks, quality inspections, backing changes, and following safety procedures. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and prior tufting experience, with the ability to read and write English and perform basic math.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred.
• Prior experience operating tufting machine equipment required.
• Reads and writes in standard English and performs basic math.
• Completion of health and environmental safety training.
• May be required to use PC and department-specific database systems.

Responsibilities

• Operates tufting machine (threading/replacing needles, blades, etc.).
• Performs machine set-up checks and backing verification.
• Compares carpet to griege standard and alignment checks.
• Conducts on-line quality inspections and mend defects.
• Changes backing as required and handles carpet doffs.
• Reports issues to supervisor or crew lead for resolution.
• Follows safety procedures and uses protective gear as required.
• Attends job-related trainings and adheres to SOPs.
• Maintains general housekeeping on the production floor.
• Other tasks assigned by management.
