Job summary

Nabors is seeking a Tubular Services Technician I (Torque Turn Tech I) to join our team in a hands-on role. You will enter job information into a laptop for all specifications and consult with the customer representative to confirm job details and invoices.

The position requires learning and applying torque turn system procedures under close supervision initially, with progression to independent work based on performance. Prior oilfield experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 0–2 years of experience.
  • Solid computer skills and ability to navigate programs and download data.
  • Good communication and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and independently and align with operational goals.
  • Oilfield experience preferred.
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs and working long hours when needed.
  • Physical requirements include standing 2/3 of the time, and using hands, speaking, and vision as described.
  • Work environment is typically moderately noisy.

Responsibilities

  • Enter necessary job information into a laptop for all specs.
  • Consult with customer representative for all job information and invoices.
  • Operate torque turn system with supervision, progressing to independent work.
  • Identify proper equipment and communicate with shop lead hand for procedures.
  • Ensure accurate pipe specs and torques are obtained from customer representative.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • The ability to work both cooperatively and independently and set priorities in the context of operational impact and corporate goals.
  • Previous oilfield experience preferred.
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs and ability to work prolonged hours if needed.
  • Requires the ability to stand up to 2/3 of the time.
  • Requires the ability to walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel over 2/3 of the time.
  • Requires the ability to talk or hear more than 2/3 of the time.
  • Requires close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Typically works in a moderately noisy, business office environment.
Responsibilities

  • The Tubular Services Technician I (Torque Turn Tech I) will require close supervision for the first few months on the job or until confident to fulfill duties on their own.
  • This position requires the employee to understand facts, concepts, theories, procedures, and relationships between TT components.
  • The Tubular Services Technician I (Torque Turn Tech I) should also understand information that has been analyzed after a job is complete as understanding data is critical.
  • Responsibilities are to identify and communicate with the shop lead hand for the proper placement of the torque turn system and proper operating procedures with the torque sub, transmitter, receiver, and the Laversub/Attex.
  • Check pipe and get all pipe specs and torques from customer representative.
  • All other duties as assigned.
