Job summary

Wabtec, located in Yankton, SD, seeks a Tube Machine Operator for the third shift to program, set up, and run the tube machine to produce finished tubes. You will assemble, inspect, and perform light maintenance while training others and adhering to work instructions.

You must have a HS diploma or GED with 1 year of related experience, plus strong safety awareness, English communication, and basic math skills. Travel may be required.

• Basic math skills and use of calipers, tape measure, and micrometers.
• Ability to pass pre-employment math test, physical, drug test and background test.
• Computer skills for looking up specs, job orders and clocking in.
• Understanding of how mechanical components work and fit together.
• Ability to meet the physical criteria of the job demands.
• Effective communication in English, both verbal and written.
• Willingness to learn new tasks.
• Manual dexterity based on past experiences.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment written math test.

Responsibilities

• Assemble tubes.
• Inspect parts.
• Perform light maintenance on the machines.

• Set-up and operate RTTS and aluminum tube machine.
• Assist in other areas of production as needed and qualified.
• Perform work in a safe manner and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
• Domestic and international travel required; could include weekend travel depending on the project.

Who will you be working with?

L\&M Radiator, Inc. is a global designer, manufacturer, and distributor of MESABI cooling and heat transfer solutions that are custom‑made for heavy equipment in the mining, oil, gas, construction, and heavy industrial industries. We are looking for an individual to join our third shift tubing team.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Tube Machine Operator team, you will be responsible for the programming, operating, and machining parts for production. You will report to the Tubing third shift supervisor.

• Perform related work and other duties as required by supervisor.

What about the physical demands of the job?

• Wear correct PPE.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Stand on concrete.
• Work in heat conditions in summer.
• Work with paints, oils, solvents.

This role is also eligible for a performance bonus.

The hourly range for this role is between $21.00 and $30.50. The actual hourly rate offered may be influenced by training, experience, education, business needs, market demands, and location. The base pay range is subject to change.
