ANGLING TRADE is seeking a Social Media Manager to lead its social media strategy, enhance engagement, and promote conservation efforts. The role involves executing campaigns, content creation, and analytics to further the organization's mission. Ideal candidates will have strong writing skills, a passion for conservation, and experience engaging diverse audiences through digital platforms.
The current one, Laura Buckmaster, was/is awesome, so these will be tough shoes to fill. But the work is rewarding and the cause is right. If you think you truly understand social media, and you get fishing and conservation (you have a conscience) you can learn more and apply at the link at the bottom of the description.
Description
The Social Media Manager will lead our national social media channel strategy to help us tell our story to new audiences and inspire deeper engagement among social followers. Reporting to the Vice President for Communications and working closely with other staff across the organization, the manager will be a key player in using digital tools to drive engagement in TU’s mission and advance TU’s communications, development, advocacy, and conservation goals. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a deep knowledge of social media channels and strategy, excellent messaging judgment, and a passion for connecting audiences with TU’s conservation mission.
About Trout Unlimited
Trout Unlimited (TU) brings together diverse interests to care for and recover rivers and streams so future generations can experience the joy of wild and native trout and salmon. We are a national organization with 350,000 members and supporters and more than 400 chapters and councils nationwide. These dedicated volunteers are matched by a respected national staff of conservationists, organizers, lawyers, policy experts, and scientists across the country. We overcome obstacles with grassroots credibility, professional skill, nonpartisan advocacy, and scientific expertise. We build relationships with decision makers, land and resource stewards, community members, and other stakeholders to deliver meaningful change on behalf of healthy trout and salmon fisheries, clean water and vibrant communities.
Duties and Responsibilities
This position is fully remote.
At TU, we value a diverse representation of staff, and we actively seek candidates for this position who come from communities that have been historically under-represented in conservation, and those who have been most affected by degraded rivers and streams. We are committed to building space for all people to participate in our work to care for trout and salmon and clean our shared waters. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and welcome you to read more about TU’s equity practice and values at tu.org/equity.
How to apply
Please provide a resume and a cover letter via TU’s Paylocity application system using the link below. Applications without a cover letter will not be considered.
