Job description

Postdoctoral Research Position in Plant and Soil Science

A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Plant and Soil Science at Texas Tech University's Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources, Lubbock, TX. The Berdeja Lab seeks a highly motivated researcher to contribute to cutting-edge studies in plant physiology, molecular biology, and bioinformatics, using grapevine as a model system.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead projects investigating the impact of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF)–grapevine interactions on abiotic stress resilience and fruit quality.
  2. Conduct field, greenhouse, and laboratory experiments.
  3. Analyze physiological, metagenomic, transcriptomic, and metabolomic data.
  4. Prepare scientific manuscripts and contribute to presentations.
  5. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and mentor students.
Qualifications

PhD in a relevant field. Knowledge of modern research practices, methods, resources, and standards. Ability to organize, conceptualize, and prioritize work independently. Skills in resource integration, policy understanding, and effective communication. Ability to plan, allocate, and supervise workload, including training and mentoring staff and students.
