Job summary

MITRE Corporation in Bedford, MA, seeks a Senior Cyber Intelligence Engineer to advance cyber threat intelligence initiatives supporting government and private sponsors. You will lead projects, guide capability development, and collaborate across MITRE to shape research and deploy high-impact intel programs.

The role requires 5+ years (or 3 with a Master’s/PhD) of relevant experience, deep knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK®, strong communication, and a Top Secret/SCI with polygraph clearance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can contribute immediately.
• Demonstrated application of MITRE ATT&CK® within operational environments and other structured frameworks and analytic techniques.
• Knowledge of adversary tradecraft and their utilization of cyber operations.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presenting technical analysis in written products and presentations.
• Must have an active Top Secret/SCI with polygraph U.S Government issued Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site.

Responsibilities

• Apply cyber intelligence expertise to help sponsors solve hard problems, including defensive operations and critical infrastructure analysis.
• Explain how cyber intelligence fits into sponsors' missions and security programs.
• Guide sponsors in building and advancing cyber intelligence capabilities and programs.
• Review sponsor tools and recommend best practices, analytic methodologies, and AI integration opportunities.
• Propose and conduct R&D to advance the state of the art in cyber intelligence.
• Contribute to MITRE ATT&CK® to help the global cybersecurity community understand threat behaviors.

MITRE’s Cyber Threat Intelligence department is seeking a Senior Cyber Intelligence Engineer tojoin our team and apply your skills in support of our government and private sector sponsors. You will advance our research and innovation in cyber intelligence, leadprojectsand tasks, and collaborate across MITRE to help shape our work and capability.Our staffwork with government, industry, and academia, enabling the public and private sector to make better decisions and implement solutions to complex challenges of national and global significance.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Apply cyber intelligenceexpertiseto help our sponsors solve their hardest problems,rangingfrom enabling defensive cyber operations,securing weapons systems,assessingthreatstocritical infrastructure, andanalyzingintelligencereporting toenablecyber effects.

• Help sponsors understand how cyber intelligence fits into their organization, whether as a core part of their mission or as an important function in their security organization.

• Guidesponsorsin buildingandadvancingcyber intelligence capabilities and programs.

• Reviewsponsor toolsand recommendbest practices,analytic methodologies, andopportunitiesto integrate AI.

• Propose and perform research and development to advance the state of the art in cyber intelligence.

Basic Qualifications:

• Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.

• DemonstratedapplicationofMITRE ATT&CK®withinoperationalenvironmentsand other structured frameworks andanalytictechniques (e.g., Diamond Model).

• Knowledge of adversary tradecraft and theirutilizationof cyber operations as a tool of military force and statecraft.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experiencepresenting technical analysis in written products and presentations.

• Must have an active Top Secret/SCI with polygraph U.S Government issued Security Clearance. Per the U.S. Government’s eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S Citizen to be considered for a security clearance.

• This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands on technicalexpertiseinanyof the followingadditionalareas: adversary emulation, defensive cyber operations, cyber analytics & malware analysis, cyber deception and adversary engagement, cybereffectsand reverse engineering, and cyberforensics.
