Trident Military Systems is seeking an IT Systems Administrator and Database Manager. Under direct supervision, the individual’s primary responsibilities will be to manage visual imagery, map, DAFIF, and other flight simulation databases. Other responsibilities will include installation and support of computer systems, including workstations and servers, local area networks (LANs), and other information system assets. This role will include monitoring and maintenance of Microsoft endpoints with administration of best practices and an emphasis on security as well as participation in decisions about systems design and purchasing, and providing technical support to both local and remote end users.

NOTE: This position does not currently require support of database products such as Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle Database.

What you will do

  • Work both independently and as part of a team
  • Maintain, test, document, organize, and provide configuration management and installation support of file collection databases for visual imagery, map imagery, Digital Aeronautical Flight Information File (DAFIF) data, and other data related to the operation of flight simulators.
  • Apply best practices and standards in executing daytoday management and operations of systems and networks
  • Assist with planning and implementation of software and system upgrades for operating systems and hardware components
  • Manage COTS & GOTS products to collect, display and remediate a variety of automated system security and system operations/performance functions and metrics
  • Assist with the creation of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) checklists and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) associated with IT systems
  • Operate monitoring tools/capabilities with the enterprise security information and event management (SIEM) and create/tailor complex event alarms/rules and summary reports
  • Assist in analyzing emerging cybersecurity tools and processes
  • Work as part of a security incident response team as needed
  • Group Policy management and configuration
  • Application of Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
  • Setup and support ACAS/Nessus/SCAP tools
  • Research and implement solutions to technical problems
  • Provide technical support in a customer service role to end users as well as to technicians supporting fielded equipment

What you must have

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience
  • Must obtain DoD 8570 baseline certification for IAT Level II within 6 months of hire

Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems and associated hardware

  • Experience in RHEL operating systems administration
  • Working knowledge of various network and switching technologies to include Aruba network switches
  • Experience with administering data backup technologies
  • Working knowledge of virtualization technologies such as HyperV, VMWare, Citrix Provisioning Services
  • Working knowledge of Risk Management Framework, Common Criteria, and System Security Policy as they relate to assessments and authorization
  • Experience applying industry standards and best practices in an enterpriselevel Windows system environment
  • Experience solving technical problems quickly and identifying opportunities to automate repetitive processes, including the ability to write scripts
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience researching new technologies to help solve existing technical problems or shortfalls
  • Ability to communicate with both technical and nontechnical personnel to understand requirements, issues, and goals
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to upgrade to Special Access Program / Special Access Required (SAP/SAR).

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in the DoD simulator community.
  • Experience supporting SAP efforts.
